Hello Chris, I was so saddened to hear your sad news that dear Ian had died so suddenly. What a dreadful shock to you.. just out walking through a park and no one there to help you when he collapsed. I do hope you have kept Ian’s mobile going. The only details I have are Ians details on my iphone from your time with us in Whitby. I really enjoyed your short stay with us there and if it was not for you both walking around the shops and then right up around the top of Whitby with me I would not have seen much at all as Graeme had a bad back and could not walk very far. I also enjoyed the day with you both when you picked us up in York and we got the “park and ride”to the city and among other things walked up the Shambles. I must say I had not heard of this historic street.... such a tiny narrow street but so very interesting and mostly in its original state. I did especially appreciate Ian’s efforts to explain every building there to me, who had originally lived there and all it’s history. He made sure I did not miss anything of significance and I did thank him for this. I gathered from my time spent with you that you were very involved with Rotary and also had many friends living nearby. I can assure you it does take some time to get used to living alone and not having a husband around but I know your many friends will rally and do their best to help you in any way possible. Thinking of you often at this very sad time in your life. With love, Cynthia family friend
